Walled Gardens near me, England, Scotland and Wales

There are many historic walled gardens open for visitors in England, Scotland and Wales.
Many have been restored to their original use of providing produce and cut flowers.  Within the Walled Garden temperatures would have been a few degrees higher allowing a greater range of plants and fruits to grow. In some of the gardens the walls were heated  with internal hot water pipes.
Today many have been redesigned with beautiful plantings, ranging from roses at Mottisfont to prairie Gardens at Scampston Hall.
