Ardkinglas Woodland Garden

The Ardkinglas Garden is of interest to the plant enthusiast or those wanting a peaceful woodland walk - watch out for the red squirrels. Includes Gruffalo Trail for kids!

Many of Britain ’s champion trees can be found in Ardkinglas Woodland Garden , including the  “Mightiest Conifer in Europe ”, a silver fir (Abies alba) with a girth in excess of 32 feet (10.5m) which was selected as one of 50 Great British Trees to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee.
As well as a stunning display of Rhododendrons and Azaleas, there is the Woodland Lochan and a Gazebo which houses a unique "Scriptorium", somewhere for you to sit and enjoy the view whilst contemplating the quotes.
The Gruffalo and FairyTrail is open - No need to book, just pay on arrival. Cash, BACs or Paypal scan accepted. The short trail uses boards showing selected extracts from the Scots version of the famous book to link the story to the setting.
