Lanhydrock House and Gardens, near Bodmin

Lannhydock House and Garden, a gem of a National Trust property with both beautiful formal and informal gardens, providing colour from March onwards. There is an extensive woodland walk with a wonderfull collection of rhododendrons

Lanhydrock House and Gardens, near Bodmin  are set at the bottom of a hill and flanked by woodland. A long drive leads down to the house through the park which contains some exceptional trees many dating from 1634.
The main plant collection at Lanhydrock however is young but links to the Victorian theme.
There are magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias throughout the gardens and on the hillside which are at their best in Spring and early summer.
The herbaceous borders and formal gardens which surround the house are ablaze with colour in mid summer. The gardens to the side and front of the house are usually planted with annuals to give a marvellous show, and the more informal borders are at the back of the house, with several paths leading you around.
Woodland walks among rare trees and flowering shrubs make Lanhydrock worth visiting all year round.
The house is really worth visiting and has many interesting rooms including a magnificent Great Hall and historic kitchens. For anyone interested in historic houses this is a must see property.
