Spetchley Park Gardens

Spetchley Park Gardens

Go and enjoy one of England’s finest gardens at Spetchley Park

At Spetchley Park Gardens you can enjoy the fantastic vistas and stunning architecture that not only inspired Edward Elgar to write one of his great compositions from the gardeners cottage but was also home to convalescing American pilots during World War 2.
You will not find manicured borders and in fact some of the garden is becoming overgrown but there is a magic not found elsewhere.
The wonderful display of spring bulbs in April and May, together with flowering trees and shrubs.
In May and June one of the largest private collections of peonies in the Country come to life. The peonies were collected by plant hunters such as Ernest Wilson for Ellen Willmot the famous Victorian horticulturist who is said to have cultivated more than 100,000 plants.
She developed the garden and plantings here after her sister Rosa married Lord Berkeley and her legacy can still be seen in the gardens.
