Gregynog Garden, in Powys
Gregynog Garden has always been synonymous with music, the arts and hospitality.
Gregynog Garden - The Davies’ sisters who left Gregynog to the University of Wales, enjoyed having visitors and even Prime Ministers of the day would come to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Hall and Gardens.
That tradition still exists today with the recently opened Courtyard Cafe and shop, visitors can come and enjoy a walk – long or short – stroll around the formal gardens, listen to the birdsong, take afternoon tea or just simply sit and relax.
A programme of garden improvements has already begun with the planting of 22,000 daffodil bulbs and over 400 rose bushes incorporated into the castellations of the yew hedge, the aim being to restore the gardens to the glory of their heyday in the 1930s.
Gregynog Gardens 2018 - open most days 11am - 5pm. An estate admission fee administered via a £2.50/car parking charge applies. Admission to formal gardens £3/person.
