Ascog Hall Fernery Garden, Isle of Bute

Ascog Hall, with it's award-winning Victorian fernery and enchanting garden, can be found on the beautiful island of Bute in the Clyde estuary.

Without a doubt, the most remarkable feature at Ascog Hall Fernery Garden is the rare sunken Victorian fernery covered by a glass roof and containing a 1000 year old King Fern. 
The various sections of the gardens invite visitors to discover rare trees and plants, all within a compact 3 acres. 
According to season an abundance of rhododendrons and azaleas, a formal rose garden and a great variety of hostas and acers can be enjoyed. The gravel garden has far reaching views over the coastline just yards away.
