Harewood House Gardens
The garden landscape at Harewood House has been intimately bound to the House from its beginning.
In 1758, as the proportions and foundations of Harewood House were being laid out, the shape of the surrounding landscape was being determined by the designer Lancelot Capability Brown for the Lascelles family. Humphrey Repton the famous designer was the involved in the early 1800's making further changes to the Landscape.
The fabulous Italianate terrace with grand parterre is the highlight but plenty more to see with Rhododendrons, rare and exotic plants, grand displays of daffodils in the Spring. The garden a includes an extensive walled garden, rose garden as well as the Himalayan Garden opened by Alan Titchmarsh.
