The Castle of Mey in Caithness

Castle of Mey Garden

This romantic and unique garden is the most northerly on our guide and proves that it is possible to make a garden in the most unlikely places. CASTLE open.

One of the Royal Gardens, The Castle of Mey  and its walled garden is set on the Pentland Firth with its strong winter gales and cold winds, but protected by the wall of Mey.
Under the control now of King Charles the Garden has a wide selection of plants including roses and climbers.
There is also a Kitchen Garden with many vegetables chosen for their resistance to salt and the winds.
