After a long dry summer we can now look forward to stunning displays of Autumn colours in the Gardens and Parks of Surrey. The Autumn colours season starts around the beginning of October and lasts until mid-November, but peaking in the 3rd and 4th weeks of October.

Painshill Park - Cobham 
This one of the most beautiful landscape gardens in Britain on a par with Stourhead in Wiltshire.
Created between 1738 and 1773 this amazing landscape has been restored in recent years featuring a Serpentine Lake, Follies, Temples, Bridges and Viewpoints. The landscape is transformed from October to mid November with stunning displays of Autumn Colours and reflections in the lake.

Polesden Lacey (National Trust) - Dorking
This outstanding National Trust property is situated on the North Downs with amazing views of the landscape and forests which turn to lovely shades of gold and amber in the Autumn.
There are various walks from the property including one to Ranmore Common.

Ramster Gardens - Godalming
Take yourself back in time to this Japanese influenced garden developed in the early 1900’s with plants from Gauntletts of Chiddingfold, whose Japanese nursery adjoined the garden. Today you will see spectacular Autumn colours, including an exceptional display of Japanese influenced plants, with an avenue of ancient Acers, a sight not to be missed!

RHS Wisley- Cobham
Prepare yourself for a great day out at RHS Flagship’s garden where you will find dazzling Autumn Colours from late flowering plants, shrubs, and with trees in shades of gold, red and amber overlooking and reflecting on the lake. Lots of ideas for your own garden and great shop and plant centre.

Winkworth Arboretum – Godalming
Created in 1937 by Dr Wilfred Fox who was inspired the great landscape gardens of Westonbirt, Sheffield Park, Exbury and Leonardlees. Winkworth Arboretum covering around 120 acres is one of the best places to see Autumn Colours in Surrey with Japanese, American and Norwegian maples. The Arboretum through the Woods lead down to a boathouse and the lake which was once used for pleasure boating. Various trails take you around.
