Where can I go to find amazing Autumn Colours ?

We feature over 100 amazing gardens and arboretums around Britain.
This year Autumn Colours have arrived early and we are already seeing dazzling displays.

Here are a few of our favourites:

Stourhead, Wiltshire
This Landscape Garden is regarded as one of the finest in the World. With classic temples, follies, grottos, and several circular walks around the large lake giving amazing views over the scenery. It is run by the National Trust and has all the facilities you need, plus it is now dog friendly. On our guide we feature places to stay nearby.
TIPS – Arrive early by 10.15 or after 3.00 which avoids peak times. Consider taking picnic as restaurant will be very busy.

Westonbirt Arboretum, Gloucestershire
This arboretum is world famous for its collection of over 18,000 trees from all over the world, planted since 1829 and at this time of year you will see colours of yellow, gold and red! The arboretum is in 2 areas with 17 miles of way-marked trails. Only dog friendly in Silk Wood the 2nd part of the Arboretum.
TIPS – Remember to book, arrive early or late afternoon to avoid crowds. Consider visiting the historic Town of Tetbury, with its antique shops, plus Highgrove shop, and restaurants.

Bodnant Garden North Wales
This amazing 80 acre Garden run by the National Trust is a brilliant place to visit in Autumn with so much to see and do. There are wonderful displays of crimson, amber and gold as the glowing leaves of trees and shrubs, ripening berries and late flowering plants put on a show to rival the brightest colours of summer.
TIPS – Arrive early or late to avoid crowds, take a haversack with a flask and snacks to keep up your energy levels. Wear good walking shoes and take a camera.

But it is not only gardens and arboretums that you can enjoy the Autumn Splendour:

You will find beautiful displays of Autumn tints in the Scottish Highlands and Snowdonia National Park in Wales.

Take a boat trip on one of the Scottish Lochs – Loch Katrine is a favourite of ours.

The Wye Valley is a wonderful colourful car journey between Chepstow and Monmouth.

The Thetford Forest Trail which has some of the finest autumn colours in England.
