Known as the Garden of England, Kent is one of the sunniest and driest parts of the British Isles. The sunny climate is great  for gardening and there are a feast of historic gardens, to visit in Kent. In fact you could spend a week here and not see all that Kent offers.
It is difficult to have favourites but Sissinghurst Castle once home to Vita Sackville-West is one of them with a series of garden rooms bursting with colour. Another favourite  is Hever Castle surrounded by beautiful gardens and if you are interested in history you can take a tour of the 13th century castle.
Goodnestone Park is another great garden where Jane Austen was a regular visitor.
At Chartwell you can visit the home of Winston Churchill and see the beautiful gardens that have been created over the years.
Most of the gardens are near to towns like Ashford, Canterbury & Maidstone.
