Gardens to visit in Hampshire

gardens-in hampshire
There are many beautiful gardens to visit in Hampshire, so if you want to see roses, herbaceous borders, rhododendrons, winter gardens you are spoilt for choice. Many of the gardens are close to the popular towns of Winchester, Southampton & Romsey.
The Test Valley is a great destination. There you will find the historic Mottisfont Abbey and its famous Rose Garden which is probably the finest in Britain. Nearby is the Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum with its 250 metre centenary double herbaceous border, claimed to be the longest in England.
If you want to relax and unwind then head for Houghton Lodge situated on the banks and River Test. Although the gardens here are on a much smaller scale, the landscape is outstanding. The final place to visit is the wonderful Longstock Water Garden although this is only open on selected Sundays during the summer.
A great destination for your garden holidays or for a day out.
