Sculpture by the Lakes - The sculpture park and botanic garden is set in 26 acres alongside Dorset's SSSI River Frome. It features three large lakes, numerous small ponds, streams, ornamental and kitchen gardens and woodland and butterfly walks all accessed by all-weather paths. Established in 2011, over 3,000 trees and shrubs, countless perennials, wildflower areas have been planted. The park holds the National Collection of the Forsythia genus and the main focus of the living tree collection is a small but important collection of globally threatened conifers.
Described as one of the most beautiful and unique settings in the UK there are over 120 pieces of art work positioned across The Sculpture Park, it is a place where you can experience art and the landscape working seamlessly together. It's somewhere you can leave your busy life behind and enjoy peace and tranquillity in a beautiful and serene environment.
Sculpture by the Lakes was awarded SNCI (Site of Nature Conservation Interest) by Dorset Wildlife Trust in 2023 and is an accredited Level II member of the USA based ArbNet organisation and was accredited as a recognised botanic garden by Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) in 2023, one of only 14 such gardens in the UK.
