Upton Castle Gardens, Cosheston

Upton Castle Gardens - A woodland walk to the tidal estuary passes through 35 acres of  listed historic gardens with over 250 species of flowering shrubs and mature rare trees.
Magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias abound. Herbaceous borders and a formal rose garden lead to a medieval chapel with unique stone effigies of Knights in armour dating from the early 13th century.
The Victorian walled garden is undergoing restoration. There are many places to sit and enjoy the tranquility and a picnic area near the car park.
Pre booked groups of 12 or more may have a guided tour of the gardens and  home made tea on the private lawns. The castle is not open to the public.
