Sheffield Botanical Gardens

Garden Holidays UK & Worldwide

Sheffield Botanical Gardens have been subject to a major restoration programme which was completed in 2005.
As with any new restoration the plantings will take time to mature, never the less the gardens are worth visiting now.
The 19 acre landscape was originally laid out in 1836 by Robert Marnock a leading Victorian horticulturalist and landscape designer.
The glass pavilions containing plant collections from temperate regions are the centre piece of the Gardens. They look out over an avenue with fine herbaceous borders both sides leading to a fountain.
Much more to see with many different areas including Rose Garden, Water Garden, Prairie Garden.
