Newstead Abbey

Newstead Abbey was the Estate which Lord Byron inherited and was forced to sell.
The Gardens at Newstead Abbey are in a beautiful setting amongst lakes and streams, and approached by a mile long drive.
There is a large terrace with pool and a well planted herbaceous border of around 100 yards at one side.
The walled Garden has recently been replanted and is starting to look good.
The Japanese Garden is well known and the gardens include waterfalls, bridges and grottos.

2008  The Newstead Abbey Grounds are open all year with the exception of the last Friday in November and Christmas Day.
House is open 23 March - 30 September, 12:00pm - 5:00 pm
(last admission 4:00 pm).
Refreshments, disabled access, shop.
