Japanese Garden near the North Cornwall Coast

Visit the Japanese Garden in St. Mawgan village near Newquay in Cornwall & discover an oasis of tranquillity, 1.5 miles from the North coast, 6 miles east of Newquay, where East meets West in this unique garden.

It is a place of tranquillity with a variety of plants and water features, where visitors can enjoy the wonder of nature in a peaceful, relaxing space. The garden was built as a meditative garden, where one can calm the mind & let go of unwanted stress through contemplation & reflection.

Set in approximately 1 acre, the Water, Stroll, Moss & Zen gardens offer a unique experience - both physical & spiritual. Stand on the bridge or Teahouse balcony, watch the fish glide by, listen to the waterfall tumbling into the pool. (Tea House does not serve refreshments)
Sit in the Zen viewing house silently contemplating the rock-scape, or stroll the myriad paths, absorbing the sights & smells of the beautiful azaleas, spectacular Japanese maples & much more.
A journey through this garden is an experience to remember.
Specialist Bonsai & Japanese Garden Nurseries, occupy approx. one acre, adjacent to the garden.
The Nurseries offer an extensive range of quality plants, statuary & accessories, together with expert advice.
