Parks, 40 acres of lawns and glades, streams and ponds within
Richmond Park. Lovely collections of rhododendrons and azaleas which are at their best in late Spring early Summer. Bog gardens with primulas, and in the summer a good collection of flowering heathers. Richmond Park covers 2360 acres and was formerly a hunting park for Charles l in 1637. Herds of fallow and red deer still roam the park which is designated a National Nature Reserve. Isabella Plantation is not to be missed in late April, early May. |
