The garden landscape at Harewood House  has been intimately bound to the House from its beginning. In 1758, the proportions and foundations of the were being laid out, the shape of the surrounding landscape was being determined by the designer Lancelot 'Capability' Brown for the Lascelles family.
The fabulous Italianate terrace with grand parterre is the highlight but plenty more to see with Rhododendrons,  grand displays of daffodils in the Spring. The garden a includes a walled garden, rose garden and an oriental garden as well as a Himalayan Garden opened in May by Alan Titchmarsh.
