In
1865, when she was 3, Frances Evelyn Maynard inherited Easton Lodge.
She
married at 21, became the Countess Of Warwick ('Darling Daisy'),
established a great Country House, devised spectacular and varied
gardens, and entertained with massive, suicidal, abandon. Her much
publicised friendship with the Prince Of Wales, A frequent guest at
Easton, was the scandal of the day.
Today the Easton Lodge gardens are being restored with great success, ponds, rose
walk, herbaceous borders and plenty more set in 23 acres.
