East Bergholt is an impressive  woodland garden. It was started by the present owners great grandfather Charles Eley.
The East Bergholt gardens are set in 20 acres around a valley with small stream and pool.
Good collections of Rhododendrons, Camellias and magnolias together with other unusual plants, shrubs and rare specimen trees.
Rupert Eley has undertaken recent plantings over the last 16 years and the garden now contains the national collection of deciduous euonymus.
Spring is the best time to visit.  Grass paths can be slippery outdoor stout shoes essential.
Excellent nursery in Walled Garden.
