Drummond Castle Gardens,
Crieff

Drummond Castle Gardens - This is a must see garden. The castle is approached by a long drive bordered by ancient trees.
When viewed from the terrace the gardens are stunning. They were first laid out in the early 17th century and re-designed and terraced in the early 19th century. Thank goodness Capability Brown did not get hold of them!
The gardens you see today were replanted during the 1950s preserving such features such as the ancient yew hedges and the copper beech trees planted by Queen Victoria to commemorate her visit in 1842.
See the famous sundial and the white Italian statuary.
Drummond Castle has one of the best formal gardens in Britain. Editor's choice and is a must, must visit.

2011 Drummond Castle Gardens open Easter Weekend then 1st May to 31st October - daily - 1pm - 6pm. Shop.
