Cragside, Rothbury, Morpeth

Cragside is a great Victorian Garden with one of the largest rock gardens in Europe.
Below the house and across the valley lie the 3 terraces of formal gardens. There are stone framed carpet beds which are planted for the summer and just below a dahlia walk.
There is a fine collection of conifers in the pinetum and a good collection of rhododendrons.
The walk through the gorge is an enlightening experience and the gardens continue to be restored.
Plenty of wildlife and you may see red Squirrels.
