Castle Fraser, Sauchen

Castle Fraser is one of the grandest castles of Mar and was built between 1575 and 1636.
The historic walled garden at Castle Fraser features shrubs, flowers, well trained fruit and vegetables and the wider estate contains mixed woodland and open farmland.
There is a lovely colourful herbaceous border.
There are 2 way-marked walks with wonderful views at Castle Fraser.

2008 NT for Scotland - Castle Fraser.  Castle: 21 Mar to 30 Jun, Wed–Sun (closed Mon and Tue) 11–5; 1 Jul to 31 Aug, daily 11–5; 1 Sep to 31 Oct, Wed–Sun (closed Mon and Tue) 12–5 (last admission 45 mins before closing).
Open on Bank Holiday weekends from Friday to Monday inclusive.
Entrance free for National Trust members.
Gardens - open daily all year round.
Refreshments, disabled access, shop.
