| Bourton
House - This beautiful garden is set in the charming Cotswold village of
Bourton. It surrounds a fine English 18th century manor
house (not open) and 16th century Grade I listed Tithe Barn. The garden of around 3 acres is divided into 'rooms' and there is extensive topiary including knot garden and parterre. There are lovely herbaceous borders which lead to a small terrace overlooking the Cotswold countryside. A small water garden is surrounded by topiary with lovely specimen trees in the background. The white garden adds interest. Many colourful planted pots. In all a garden worth visiting. Bourton House 2011 - April to the end of October every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 5pm (excluding Easter and Bank Holidays). Tea/Coffee & home-made cakes available in Tithe Barn from June to mid September. Ample parking. Limited disabled access. Toilets/Disabled toilet. Sorry, no dogs. |
