Birmingham Botanical Gardens

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens were opened in 1832. They were designed by J. C. Loudon, a leading garden planner, horticultural journalist and publisher.
Today they cover 15 acres and have many different areas of interest to both the casual gardener and plantsman. There are also glasshouses including a Mediterranean house and sub-tropical house.
There are good herbaceous borders and a cottage style garden. The National collection of Bonsai is also housed at the Birmingham Botanic Gardens.
Much more to see with music on the bandstand at weekends.
