Overlooking Ben Nevis and Glen Coe Ard Daraich is the former holiday home of Contance Spry set in 8 acres of Hill Garden with an important collection of Rhododendrons, Acers and other rare trees and shrubs. For the last 40 years we have been building a collection of ericacious plants, with over a thousand different Rhododendron species and hybrids, and hundreds of Acers and Sorbus trees - all in all a collection that is starting to draw many specialists. The land opposite the house has now become an interesting woodland with Styrax, Davidia, Liquidamber and Stachyurus. The house is defined in front with a Camellia (Debbie) hedge, which in Spring is spectacular. |
